    Economic crunch

With the auto industry really struggling right now and money being tight, I was wondering if anyone has altered the amonut they drive or their opinions on fuel saving vehicles.  I'm glad that the gas prices have come back down to somewhat resonable levels, becasue I'm not one to limit my drving just because of gas prices.  As for hybrid type cars, I'm not sold on the idea.  I like the fact that more cars will be using turbo charged engines, to save on fuel, but also keep the performance numbers  up there.

As a college student, I definitely don't come home as much when gas prices are high. Thank god they have lowered for now I just wish they would stay this way. I saw on the news that the Asian countries are testing out cars running on nothing but air. Hopefully they're on to something.

One positive with this economic downturn has definitely been the lower gas prices.  I always use premuim fuel and have noticed that I can now fill my tank for around $42-45, instead of $75-80 over the summer.  Lets hope its stays this way...they are still making a killing off the profits.

how does everyone feel about the "cash for clunkers" program? I think it was a good idea in theory but I don't think it's working out all too well. I saw on the news that dealerships are holding back advertising, and the deal for that matter, because they have not seen any money from the government yet and are getting worried.
