In about 3 weeks, I'm going to be the daddy for a baby girl (named Alessandra).  I was wondering if any first time moms or dads read a particular book to speed up the learning curve, or went to any parenting prep classes.  I have not had much expereince with my younger cousins (did not want to change diapers..lol) and am not sure if I should read into some stuff or 'wing it' with the help of the mom (who is knowledgeable about that kind of stuff). 

I got my boyfriend the fathers gide to babies I think thats what it was called and I read what to expect the first year they both helped us out. Good luck and congrats.

Thanks for the advice...I will have to check that out.  When I have observed family members take care of babies, most of the stuff seems fairly easy, but other things (dressing them, giving them baths) is kind of intimidating..lol. 

Thats what I thought too but as soon as you hold them in your arms it just comes to you and remember they arnt that easy to break lol.

Michael I still have books from when I had Eli...you are more than welcome to them.  They don't explain it all but they do help prepare you a little.  You can have them anytime.

You're going to have to run on instinct most of the time though.  And seeing you with Daphne and Remy...I'm sure you'll be a great dad!  You already treat those doggies like your babies so you'll be fine.  Just remember not to put Alessandra in a crate!

LOL thats funny but you know my sons favorite place to sleep is in my dog's crate!!

Wow she's coming soon! Congrats! I would get her toys that play the ABC's and 123s. I was really impressed when my boyfriend's neice was less than 2 years old and knew the whole alphabet and could count up to 20! She had those special toys. Good luck!

Its amazing how fast they grow!  She is now just over 9 months old and she looks totally different compared to when she was a month old.  (Both ages beautiful) but different hair color, skin tone, and features.
