    People food as a treat?

I'm pretty strict with my Cavaliers regarding what I give them for treats.  I don't like to give much table food (since I do not want to create a bad habit for them begging), but one thing that they seem to love is 'Goldfish crackers'...the cheddar flavor.  When I'm sitting at the computer and having a snack, they sit on each side of me and wait til I let them have a few.  Does anyone else have a particular non-pet treat that they give their pets?

Baby Carrots work for my two Labs.  I actually was told by a trainer to use them while training because they are much healthier than most of the dog snacks.  They are small enough to keep in a pocket if you are walking or training.  I used to use them during Agility competitions.

Otherwise my guys aren't allowed any human food.  There are just too many things that can be a danger and that they do not digest properly.

Sydney thinks she is a person and therefore thinks she is supposed to eat human food. She love popcorn and cottage cheese. I try not to let her have too many things, but my grandma tries to feed her full meals. I stick to crackers mostly because she LOVES bread! However, her mother was addicted to jellybeans, but only the red ones. She would walk away from all the rest.

That is hilarious that your grandma tries to feed her full meals.  When I take my dog home for the holidays, my Dad cooks lamb and since Daphne (my cavalier) is always afraid of him except when he is cooking, he gives her so much lamb and just keeps saying that its good for her coat.

Since I am at school my pup lives at home with my parents and my grandma. Whenever we have dinner my grandma always wants to fix Sydney a plate, but she always adds cottage cheese because our vet told us that it is healthy to feed cottage cheese to the dogs because it helps give them a shiny coat. Whenever my parents have snacks or anything she always throws some on the floor. Its horrible but we can't stop her!
